Why does singing and acting seem like talents most appreciated nowadays?

Were other talents appreciated more in the past? It seems to me that our celebrities have always been singers and actors. In fact, I think the opposite is true, in that singing and acting are becoming a secondary value to just being famous. How the hell else do you explain Paris Hilton? She makes news every! single! day! just for being for being famous. Everything she does, from cat-fighting, to running out of gas, to announcing her own celibacy, is news and gets published in almost every tabloid there is, and she has no actual talent. Personally, I long for the days when you had to, you know, do something to be famous.

by no potential!! it is not even making a song , it relatively is talking and a million. the lyrics are too rapid to maintain on with 2. they curse too lots 3. they are in straightforward terms rapping approximately bogus stuff like say drugs or being on boats , etc 4. they say " Yo" lots
