I think the difference is no one is calling the shots now...
We no longer have a rubber stamping congress which is good because it helps to bring more balance...
When we have a divided government, more compromises have to be made and more debating is done...
True this slows down the process but it also tends to lead to a better overall government.
When the Republicans took over Congress in the mid 90's with Clinton running the White House, the country had a great growth period.
True it wasn't all them, or even mostly them, but they did balance the budget, cut spending and really helped facilitate the economic growth of the nation.

Didn't know she was calling "every shot", thought maybe the president and supreme court still had some authority. We may even find out that other Congressmen and Senators have a thing or two to say.
Not sure what funding you are talking about...Social Security? Medicare? She going to stop feeding and paying the troops? Maybe not pay the U.N. dues anymore? Could you let us know what she is going to cut?

No - I expect to see Nancy crawling out from under Bill the Clin-TOON's desk at any time. After all that would be a good use for that lying "ethical" mouth that wants laws exempting her friends.

She is a rich white elitist snob who has nothing to offer 90% of America. Don't believe me? At the rate she's going...it won't take long...She's put the Global Warming issue at the top of her agenda and it's 40 degrees in LA! 'nuff said

This question shows ignorance of how our governmental system works, and it appears that the author is unfamiliar with current issues, and doesn't have a clue about party platforms. I would guess that the author gets his news from comedy central.

The President has said on many occasions that he will not give in to the demands of congress...he has a job to do...let him do it...
Congress would never cut funding either...it would be political suicide.
When will you get off your knees? "Please, please, please no more intelligent arguments...I'll do anything you ask, anything..." - U
