i got to download aim and install it but i need to change the port number to conect to the aim server.its stoping me from actualy connecting.the curent port its using is 1590

A good port number is the one used by your computer at HOME. That means....school is for learning NOT IM'ing. Now get back to your studies.

They stop this for a reason; it costs the School money per meg.
By-passing is not only wrong by their rules, but it is making someone else pay for the download. I do Hope you understand this ... I am all for free Internet, but not when someone else has to foot the bill at a place like a school

There is a reason your school's firewall blocks AIM's standard port. Maybe its because your not supposed to be IMing in school?

Get back to work.

There is no "magic port" that always works... you will have to check with your network administrator - if you're that stupid lol

Why not just get on with your work and wait 'til you get home to muck about and waste time?

i usually just use the one on the site, and it works for me at school.
