Yes - child support is based on income. For example, a person making $60k has to pay 520 a month while a person making $90k has to pay 720 a month (for one kid). The person that makes the most has to pay the other the difference if you have joint custody. The amounts are in a table produced by the federal govt.

even if you dont HAVE to the moral thing is yes pay the child support that you two have agreed on. the child has to parents why should one parent be the only one paying and struggling when the other is out there having a blast spending money. now if the question was paying for the ex it would be hell no. but do it for the kids

Child support is for the kids. You should pay the support for them and nothing else. Helping your ex raise YOUR kids this way is not only legal but morally the responsible thing to do no matter what country you live in.
