Very relevant question. I remember reading somewhere that the leader of the conservative party in Britain resigned after they lost the elections because he was in his sixties and wanted to introduce young blood in the party. In contrast, Indian politicians can carry on well into their eighties. One can always argue that age does not matter as long as performance is all right but how does one judge political performance? There are age limits for directors in many companies but I suppose it is easier to run a country and therfore there is no age limit. Companies also do succession planning which is rarely seen in politics. Whether young or old, performance should never be compromised.
Right balance of youth and experience does not mean that aged people carry on endlessly. The more important issue is- how to detect and induct talanted people in politics- the way we have Ranji trophy for cricket for instance. Politicians should come spontaneously from among the poeple insterad of being imposed by the high command.

I do not think that the entry of young men into politics will cleanse politics, unless they are imbued with a sense of idealism and the will to clean the Aegean's stables.

I am not sure I understand your question, are you asking why so many old people are in politics and that younger ones should enter and try to clean it up?If so I would agree with you to a point.Just remember experience counts in govt.We sure could use some fresh faces and ideas in govt. from younger people, but just not because they are popular or charismatic
