my spy sweeper locks up and wont let me minimize it, shut it down, or run scans or anything,and i have to shut my computer down to get rid of it. It comes up on the Spy Sweeper home page. When I restart it, it comes up and minimizes, then all is well.

assuming you have windows xp, need to to login to the safe mode, and uninstall the prgram from their computer , the program needs to be reinstall sounds like it,
in order to get to the safe mode, shut the windows and turn it back on, while its coming backup press F8 key until tyou get to the windows that says Safe mode, ( there are other options) but you need Safemode, from there you can unistall the prgram and again install it

The first thing I would do is make sure you are using the latest version of Spy Sweeper. Sometimes these software titles update in as little as one week. So when it is working use the program to check for updates. If you can't get into the program go to the spy sweeper site and download and install the updates manually according to Spy Sweeper's website...

delete it and try a really good spyware program
