i too am cack and snooker but better at outdoor sports, snooker is more a mental game. with say football for instace if you lose the ball you can crunch someone in a dirty tackle to feel better, in snooker you have to go back to your seat and sit down. I've broke many a snooker cue on the wall...

I don't think it is something that can be explained.

I am quite a good sportsman (Football, cricket, badminton, rugby, the list goes on) and fairly handy with a pool/snooker cue.

But, I can't play tennis to save my life. Everytime I hit the ball it just goes anywhere. It is even stranger as I am excellent at badminton (I usually play against 2 people on a full court.)

I guess everyone has something they just can't do.

Different set of skills required to football, cricket or golf. Perception and precision are required. This even varies between similar sports, I'm quite good at pool and bar billiards but lousy at snooker.
