Old fashioned elbow grease and some good saddle soap works best. But this is not prevention. I always spray a waterproofer on my leather and suede before using it and after each cleaning.

Try the local farm supply store for saddle soap.Or the local shoe store for leather shoe soap.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser......or any of the "store brands" that work just was well and are much less expensive. This will remove the scuffs about 100 times quicker than a mop or rag. A little water and a few strokes and you should have a clean floor.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but take you furniture polish and give them a spray, and buff them. You might have to do it twice.
