You are an adult, right? You can just tell your boss that you need that day off. If he/she asks why, you can say "personal reasons." It's really not the boss's place to judge whether or not your reason is justifiable. Expect him/her to respect your privacy. You should be in the clear if you don't often ask for days off. Otherwise, maybe you should think twice about going to the party.

Tell them it is either "Personal Obligations" or "Family obligations." They're not allowed to ask for details.... but keep it simple and don't let it become too elaborate! If you make up this whole story about going out to dinner with the family, you can be sure there will be questions about it later. Keep it simple... and keep it believable!! Hope this helps!

Don't u hv leave or something? If u don't just pretend as if u're sick and can't work or just say u hv an important family matter to attend and it just can't wait. U'll think of something that'll work if u really wanna go

A monday night......well, you could say it's your one year anniversary with your girlfriend. You could just say personal reasons. They can't force you to tell them where you are going. You could call out the day before saying your extremely sick. You could say you're having a surprise birthday party for someone, i dunno, your dad or something. I'm sure you can come up with something.
