Check your local Department of Economic Security (welfare) office, generally you can get Medicaid if there is no income coming into the home--and make sure you tell them that you are at an "emergency status"--which means they will process your application quicker. You can go to the doctor, just make sure they know that you are "pending" approval after your application is complete. Medicaid usually goes back three months in every state in the U.S. so you would be covered for billing purposes. You will lose your benefits with in 30 days after your husband starts working again, because there can be no income, however it could be a temporary solution to the problem. If you are employed, there are a few health care organizations that are reasonable--try and google "health care insurance" and see what you can find for your area. Good Luck!!
