It is the world's oldest profession. It is a business. It is good marketing. I could be wrong, but I think it is illegal in all states. Prostitution is legal in Nevada, but using the Internet to solicit is still a crime. I think you can insinuate but you can't be blunt. It is a way an unskilled individual can make big bucks if they don't mind the risk to health from STD's or from strangers or risk getting a criminal record.

The whole age of the commercial internet has resulted in a boom in the sexual industry as a whole. The demand is there and there's a lot of money.

It is the solitictation or communication for the purpose of prostitution that is illegal and I think it doesn't matter how it is done - live, telephone, online. I would think that on the Internet it would be even riskier in these days of packet sniffing and hacking. It can be curtains in a lot of ways if an email or chat ends up in the wrong hands.

I personally would say "you can't judge a book by its cover." While dress may give a hint, a lingerie or nude shot does not of itself mean she is a prostitute. It would be difficult for me to make this call, but I would watch her behavior online. If she's after money and sex, there's a chance of that being true.
