There are plenty of problems to be sorted out but that has always been the case & probably always will. Running the country is a journey without end because no matter how many problems you fix, something else will always crop up & it will be the only thing anyone notices.
We have to remember that Britain is far better off than most countries, although you have highlighted some real issues. The water shortages need to be better managed (probably the Water Companies should never have been privatised). The NHS needs reforming (but everyone will scream abuse if any real action is taking, even though costs continue to rise). Some schools are better whilst others are wose (& Britain remains a land where education is often sneered at).
Iraq ? Why did the PM get us involved ????
As for the powers that be & what we can do...we could all start by simply voting at general & local elections...but as a nation we are too lazy to do even that.

We're becoming a pathetic nation because we're allowing the daily fake terrorist scare tactics from John Reid and Blair warp our minds.
I get depressed when I think about the freedoms that Blair is removing so easily after our grandparents fought and died to ensure we had them.
Why would an honest leader try and scare his nation with useless terrorist threats that provide no benefit? Why would a leader react to terrorism by restricting basic freedoms, monitoring citizens, forcing in ID cards, proposing vehicle tracking and proposing a central database containing a mass of personal details?
That's the problem Britain has!!!

They may be bad bud this is due to 1 - the tabloid newspapers in this country and 2 - we have been spoilt historically. The things you mention like clean running water, Education, Welfare state are now and historicaly some of the best in the world.
They are only bad comparred to what they were.
They are getting worse due to populist knee-jerk goverment policy which fails long-term investments (which any investment in these things would be) as the payback or reward may be long in the future when another government could take credit for this.

I hear ya!
We need to take a leaf out of the Frenchies book and hold a massive protest. But we both know that won't happen.
Eventually it will get so bad we will have riots in the streets and there will be nothing they can do because all the soldiers are abroad and there's certainly not enough Police.

We can do nothing - it all up to the government!
Shocking
Lets face it, these are all petty issues when you look at how this world has been run into the ground....and now that its too late to stop the planet being destroyed, they have now started measures to help save the planet!

Take all politicians out to a field and shoot them like the dogs they are, also if anyone wants to be a politician that should be considered reason enough to shoot them too
