First, make sure you are not trying to teach too many things at once. She might understand everything, but then might have a hard time sorting everything out later. If this isn't the problem, doing memory tasks might help her remember. Something as simple as repeating numbers back to you is a good start. If she cannot repeat at least 3 numbers back to you to start, then there might be a problem that needs to be checked out. You can also work on memory by having her repeat sentences word for word. Start with 3-4 word sentences and work your way up! I work with hard of hearing children, and we do a lot of memory work to help them remember and hold what they hear in class.Good luck!

Involve as many of her senses as possible. With a young child, we used (gentle) sandpaper numbers for her to trace using her fingers. Let her practice charts with a bag of M&Ms. The more senses you use, the better she will remember. I had a group of children who got meters and kilometers mixed up. So, we walked a kilometer while measuring with a rolling meter stick.

Have her purchase a mini tape recorder and tape your sessions. Have her listen to them over and over till the brain retains the information as a memory.

take down notes.
record your session.
maybe she has short-term memory. tell her to go to a doctor. better yet, tell her parents to take their daughter to a doctor. she might forget.
