There is absolutely no contraindication to take garlic dietary supplement in the correct dosage. It has been used right since the time of early civilisations, eg. the Chinese Dynasties, for its multiple benificial effects on the body.

One of its main ingredients have, very often, been made use of in the laboratories especially for manufacture drugs to decrease the viscosity of blood.

With the supplements one should exercise caution if one is taking anticoagulants or antihypertensive medications as the effects of these latter may be potentiated (increased).
In hypersensitive patients one may develop symptoms of gastritis or flaring up of already existing peptic ulceration.

Its popularity is on the increase world wide.

Garlic can increase the risk of bleeding if you are taking Coumadin or other blood thinners, and may make your blood pressure medicine stronger. Otherwise, there should not be any significant problems. If you are taking prescription meds it is always wise to check with the pharmacist before taking any supplements.
