yea, extra curricular activities can be a good thing, but you must also be mindful that there is more to life than just having fun. School is not designed to be some social hang out and party facility. I teach both 7th and 8th grade, their minds are not equipped for the real world, when we discuss real life situations they don't have a clue, its like i'm speaking a foreign language, but when I talk about Peyton Manning, or Michael Jordan or the latest PS game then they're in sync with the topic.

How would you feel if you went to a store to get some clothing and the staff can't tell you about the garments, but can talk to you about sports? All i'm saying is, there neeeds to be a standard. Either you wanna play or you wanna get a good education and make healthy decisions about life.

I teach at a middle school. The sports available are football, swimming, diving, volleyball, basketball, tennis, wrestling and track. Which other sports would you like to see added? We also offer art, crafts, orchestra, band and choir that could be considered extra-curricular activities as well. Do you have specific things in mind?
