No special reason. He sings the anthem from time to time just because he is a good singer. I remember him singing the anthem for the Pistons when he used to play in Detroit.

True story....A few years back, they had a little girl who was supposed to sing the national anthem before a Mav's game. Well lets just say that nerves got the best of that little girl and why were left without a replacement. Stackhouse volunteered and performed well, so he has actually performed the national anthem several times now.

The NBA players do that sometimes and the Mavs probably wanted to give their fan's a treat at the game.

Jerry Stackhouse is a famous former NHL Hockey player and he came back to L.A. to be recognized and to sing the anthem. He is a very talented singer too!
