Does anyone know what happened to him? I'm not sure I like this new guy Kepner.

He didnt leave CSI.
During the filiming of the current season, William Peterson got permission to leave CSI to star in some type of off broadway play or theater or something like that.
He's being replaced by this Keppler guy, but its only for 4 episodes.
If you watched the last new CSI before this, Grissom said at the end of the episode to the rest of the team that he'd be back in a few weeks.

I am very upset. I love his character and the chemistry with the whole team! He went on sabatical b/c he was offered a position to teach somewhere. In real life, the actor is filming something else I believe. It's just a temporary move. He's coming back.

He'll be back. He is taking a few weeks off so he can do theatre. I love the show and haven't missed and episode since it's been on. Also helps that there are reruns. Thank you.

I was sooo disappointed when they made it seem like he was leaving forever! I think he will be back.

he will be back. he just went to teach at some school for a while. i love this character also.
