There's no answer to that question. Most cruelty such as wars, murders and other crimes comes from our (humans) own actions and thoughts. A person who does cruelty has mental problems. Most probably because of daily work and stress we have to handle in this modern world.

Cruelty is one of the opposites of love (another is indifference).

With true love, on the other hand, your good is my good; your happiness is my happiness|


But with cruelty, your pain is my pleasure.

This is because the cruel man is of necessity a proud man.


The proud man hates the good as such and hates truth as such|

All that he values in existence is his own ego - and the more inflated it is, the better.

So to see another's misery, makes the evil man's ego better by comparison.

That explains the phenomenon of cruelty|

Because despite what we pretend to be, man is declining in morals and values.
Man learns from his upbringing how to view life.
All that he becomes is a product of the way he sees the picture by how he was raised.
Sadly as parents far too many Fathers and Mothers fall far short of nurturing a better type of person beyond their own likeness.

disproportion of productive people and non productive people. some work and support themselves others live off those who work.in the past those who didn't work were placed on work farms and became productive.today the non workers are provided food shelter by laws that's the reason for cruelty

Probably because we dont care or share, Americans, eating all the food and using up all the resources, do the poor kids somewhere in another country get one piece of a leftover hamburger?
