I already started! well not the robes... but I do wear a cape! Seriously I think the freedom to wear clothes that you want to wear without the interference of "fashion" (read Fascists) is one of the greatest feelings in the world! And now back to goofy! Viking helmets for everyone!

My society doesn't dictate what I wear at all. I get up and put on what I want everyday. Robes are not as comfy as sweats and a tshirt, though. I already started my own trend!!

Who is really telling you what to wear. Also are you saying that westerners don't wear comfortable clothing?. Go with the time and place when wearing any clothing.

There are many countries in the Middle East where you HAVE to wear a robe, so maybe you should consider relocating to one of them?
