Since when did people start deciding that OBEs last only a few minutes? For decades I've read/experienced that they could last as long as you can maintain them, often hours at a time. Many say that we all do it while asleep.

OBE can last for as long as you can possibily remain in the altered state of consciousness. During an OBE or Astral Projection, you may visit palces far beyond your geographical location. How ever, the general trend is a few minutes only that an OBE can last

From all the shows I have seen they don't seem to last more than a few seconds. to a few minutes.

the experience can seem to take some serious time, sometimes...but in my experience, no "real" time elapses.
