It's funny because I see a lot of people saying that they wouldn't vote for him because his career has been so short. But to be honest, I love that about him. I'm a libertarian so I tend to vote on issues that split the parties in half. Thus, I don't really swing republican or democrat, but to be honest I usually tend to think democrats dream much more than they do, and republicans promise to keep things the same and screw anyone who doesn't get what they want.
And that's the problem. The system has been around long enough that no one is doing anything to change it. Yeah, you have to work within the system, and he's done that so far. But look at the campaigns, he's only been in the game a few years and people are already smearing his name every possible way they can. I say the man who comes in with a little naivete and says "Why can't we be idealistic" is something we need.
I say the system isn't going to change if you keep electing people that are a part of it. You need someone who will be honest for a change, and give a damn about the people they represent.
So I'm all about Obama at this point. I mean we'll see how things develop, but I think him being "inexperienced" is a huge boon to the system. The entire congress is made up of people who've been in the game for a few decades, why not have one person who sees things different?

I believe that i will vote for the person that i feel is best qualified for the job regardless of sex, religion, creed, heritage, and certainly not based on the melanin content of ones skin.
Unfortunately, there are still a great number of bigots in this nation.
For those that don't know.... definition of bigot.
BIGOT : A bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of opinions, lifestyles, or identities differing from his or her own. The origin of the word in English dates back to at least 1598, via Middle French, and started with the sense of religious hypocrite, especially a woman.
Bigot is often used as a pejorative term against a person who is obstinately devoted to their prejudices even when these views are challenged or proven to be false. Forms of bigotry may have a related ideology or world views.

I just read an article about Barrack Obama. He is the son of a Black Muslim. His Father deserted him and his Mother to return to the middle east when he was about 2yrs old. He attended a Muslim school. In his later years he attended a christan church. I think that background will haunt him if he runs for President. I find it amazing that he got as far in Politics as he did.

Jesus, why bring yourself into a political discussion when you obviously have no clue? Learn to spell his name first. Second, choosing political candidates based on skin color is one of the most ignorant things I have ever heard. Did you think you were original when presenting this question and following it up with ol' classic "when pigs fly!" reference. Please, stay out of political discussion and stick to being ignorant elsewhere.

Yeah, I probably will in the primary. He is inexperienced but seems to be the most honest and intelligent candidate. It won't matter though because articulate people like yourself will be voting.

No. Not because of his race. Not because his name resembles that of Osama and Saddam. I won't vote for him because his politcal career has been too short. I might vote for him if he takes a strong stance on some issues that I agree with and after his voting history is a greater length. Vote for a candidate because of their beliefs, not because of who they are or where they come from.
