**Please note I am not a boy racer**

I had four months ago a Fabia vRS. And I am chuffed with it.
I have heard various reports that it would give a Honda Civic Type R a run for its money. But I do not think it would beat them.

Any truth in this?

Also If you are a Fabia vRS owner then what do you think?
Also what do you think of Skoda?

All of the cars you mention are great cars in their own right. I think you would find that a civic type r would beat the fabia (just), in most cases. But as with all cars, it depends on all aspects involved.. i.e. the driver, the road, the weather conditions... etc etc.. It would be very close all round, but if it were me mate - id go with the fabia VRS, as the mileage you get is second to none for a performance car IMO. Id say you have the pick of the bunch...

Two mates of mine had a Skoda and a Honda. The Skoda was a better car on anything other than long straight roads as it had the torque the Honda lacked. The Honda is very "top endy" and has to be worked hard to get the full 200BHP out of it.

The Honda would be quicker and better handling but the Skoda costs less to run and insure. There is also the added problem of the Honda being more likely to be stolen.

Pre- Face lift Civic Type-R!!! Get the .55YM it is the last of the old beauties with recaro seats, privacy glass bla bla bla.... 55 plates and on only. If your lucky some early registered on an 05 plate. Will hold a better residual value, whilst the Skoda Octavia is nice in it's own right, nothing will leave you with that exciting feeling wanting more like the R will...

Skoda these days is brilliant. Their cars are basically cheap and reliable Volkswagens in a Czech overcoat. Honda has been proven to be a car that attracts the "Grey Pound" so if you are under 40 then stay Skoda.

Skoda despite having no money have produced world beating rally cars from the out set . they now have money to improve the looks and comfort of there cars and i would say that Honda should beware .

I'd say it would be very close between the two. That fabia is fantastic and might just surprise you against the honda.
