Any effect like those will pass as the poisons slowly exit your body. It gets better with time. After about three weeks I realized My sense of smell had improved immensely. I can breath much better and do not cough up crap in the morning any more. It has been over ten months now and I smoked for 35 years, so anyone CAN do it! I chew the generic brand nicotine gum.l The first week is hardest, it was made "easier" for me as I was in the hospital for that week.

Over ten months later I thank God for the opportunity to be successful at quiting! If I can do it, any one can you just have to WANT to. Good luck!

The headaches will go fairly soon. The other after-effects are a fatter wallet a nicer-smelling house, and better quality of life. Make sure he doesn't comfort eat instead. Distract him when he wants to smoke!!

You could also try Paul McKenna's Quit Smoking CD. He re-programmes people to not want a cigarette. His Fear of Flying CD worked brilliantly for me, and I'm now successfully using his Slimming programme.

Quitting smoking can cause irritability, anxiousness, paranoia, headaches, increase in phlegm and mucas membrane sensations, post nasal drip, eating disturbances, sleep disturbances, and nervousness.

The best way to quit smoking is not to buy cigarettes. Then start taking vitamin B for stress reduction, vitamin e for immune system, melatonin 30 minutes-1 hr before bed for sleep aid, and cough drops for post nasal drip and cough.
