After Argentina beat our best (one man show) players last summer, the teams have reverted to a more team oriented approach, thus making them appear to be better.
Just better coaching and a return to team play.
Foreign players have always been team players.

If you are talking about pure talent, then yes, there is more talent in the league now since the league was in a slump after Jordan, Magic, and Bird left the game. And youre right, the west is far deeper, with much better talent then the west. I don't think this is all due to foreign players (although this is easily argued because the team with the best record in the league, has a european as their best player) I think it is more due to an emphasis on team play. Everyone else in the world plays team basketball except for the U.S., who thinks that basketball is a one-on-one game. I think the U.S. is starting to realize that if your best player is not willing to play within a team concept, then your doomed. Just look at Kobe this year. He is taking 7 fewer shots per game and his assists are WAY up from last year. Players are really buying into a team-first concept.

Sure, just look at the records. I had never seen that much teams having big winning streak like this.
What about Phoenix and Dallas? For the second year in a row, they have the best records of the league.
Some teams are really going down though. Think about the Celtics with all those injuries, the Kings that don't seem to be able to get a win recently, Memphis who started up really bad without Gasol.
In the East, I think Atlanta surprised me the most at the beginning of the season, and now on a winning streak. Aside that, what about Toronto? Can the raptors make it to the playoffs?
I think that rookies seem to get involved a lot more as well, making the league even more interesting with more and more foreign team-players.

The west has always been good since MJ left the Bulls back in the late 90's. The east is getting better but no one is really dominant in the east.
