Go to a furniture store that sells Rocking chairs and ask there. They should have some sound advice for you, from the Manufacturer . I hope this helps.

It's proabably either that the chair is unbalanced, or you aren't sitting quite in the middle.

I can't think of any easy ways of fixing it. Perhaps you could nail a couple of bits of wood to the floor to act as tracks and hold the chair where it is.

They just do that.

Buy either a rubber backed piece of carpet and rock on that. which will only slow it some.

Or try glueing a rubberized material to the tread area on the chair. Basically you are trying to create some traction.

I would say put some carpet under it and superglue it there.
use velcro strips on it.Put some wood staples in the bottom
of the rockers and then put a piece of duct tape over it so it
will not scratch floor...

As a furniture repair person, I would remove both rockers, clamp them together and sand them even. If it is a very old rocker, they might need replacing, it just depends how badly they are worn. It might be possible to sand them while on the rocker, but may take more trial and error.

Try rocking with both feet instead of just your right foot and see what happens. Or take away it's master card.

Maybe it's a magic chair, like the magic bus in the song.

For my rocker I just use the mats that you buy to put under rugs to keep them from crawling. They are inexpensive and work really well.

Try some self stick (padded type) shelf paper.. is has a "grip" that just may stop your rocker from trying to escape with you in it! It's inexpensive and should cause enough friction to "stop it in its tracks"! good luck
