I work in a bar and one day when I was talking football with someone, someone else butted in to tell me that the Colts were going to lose beacause Peyton Manning had no heart. They ended up winning the next 2 games against KC and the Ravens just like I predicted, but it still bothered me that someone would say that without any reason for it. So I would like to know from actual football fans not idiots who have no idea what they are talking about, Does he have heart? I think he has huge heart and a huge passion for the game that is incomparable to any player in the NFL. Am i blinded by my love for the Colts?

I agree with a lot that you said Tim, I think Brady is amazing. He does a lot for the team with a bunch of rookies around him. But there are not that many players who do not care about the money to some degree and the Indy team does not really need that much improvement. They just need to show up when it counts. The talent is there.

The person that told you that is a moron. I have watched Peyton play football as early as his high school days. The man has a love for the game second to none and is a competitor. No one works harder to improve his game.
I know the 'choking gag' that everyone brings up with Peyton since it started at Tennessee when they would go up against Florida. However, no one talks about the dropped passes by the Tennessee receivers. It was amazing how many balls they dropped and many times they didn't run the right routes. Look at all the dropped passes by receivers when Indy went on a losing streak this year.
Also, Peyton really missed Stokely and Clark. Indy's offensive scheme relies more on timing. The Pats play more as a team and you have to give credit to Brady in that he does more with less. However, from top to bottom the Pats get the most out of their players and I think you can credit Belichick for that.
But Manning has heart and plenty of it. He is not playing his best ball right now and is due for a brteak-out game. I look for him to have it against the Pats and that should shut people up.

If he really had heart and a desire to win then he would take a MINOR pay cut at least to let his team spend some money elsewhere so he can win the big games. He is selfish.
You cannot honestly say anyone in the NFL has more heart than Tom Brady. Without his heart, Tom Brady is average. With it, he is the best.
Ignoring that, Peyton does seem to have heart, just judging by the faces he makes when something bad happens to his team. If he didn't have that and the passion for the game he would just shrug it off and not care. That being said, there is a whole lot more he could do for his team that he isn't doing. Not saying he necessarily has to, but for him to be "incomparable to any player in the NFL" he needs to stop being so selfish.

No.
Im going to say that Heart in football applies basically only to people who need to compensate for not having as much skill either as a single unit player or whether or not they lack certain skill players.
Peyton Mannings Colts, are loaded with skill...LOADED. He hasnt ever needed heart to win games...he just hopes that either his super skilled Wide Recievers'll get open before his super skilled Offensive line breaks down or that he'll just cash in on his ball handling...but he also has the fortune of being in a weak division which consistenly plays conservative defense, which he can read, or may not even have to because they are soo obvious.
Anyway, when Peyton loses his Rhythm, he never comes back...he just collapses which explains his loses to Bill Bellichick, who is pretty relentless a defensive coach. Until, he fights on his own, I cant associate Heart being on his own....Send him to the Cleveland Browns and maybe I'll pick up.

Yea, the one in his body that beats and pumps blood throughout his body. As far as football, I think he does too. However, he does have a proven history of appling up in big games. But that doesn't mean he doesn't care about the game, and doesn't want to win. It just means he wasn't born as one of those rare few like jordan, brady, etc. that make careers of stepping up in big situations and succeeding time and time again. Look at Marino, great player with a huge heart, just never was a great finisher in big games.

I think Peyton's got heart and a love for the game, but I wouldn't bet against the Patriots, especially against the (playoff) Colts. Sorry....

He has heart, he just doesnt have IRON will, thats why he can never win the big one, he does great when there is no pressure and fair with a fair amount of pressure....but under heavy pressure he is no Favre or Montana....
Result...Colts lose again....
