Get a pair of gloves....their beaks are quite sharp, and a peck from them will hurt... so get some strong gloves... a birds net pets shop.....then a cage...

trap the bird in the net then carefully hold them properly (get advice on how to hold birds) then place it in the cage....

then release it.....

i have two budgies....and they often manage to fly out of their cages..

or leave the attic door open, close all other doors, and try and move them to a window or door where they can fly out...

starve a cat for about 4 or 5 days then let it loose, video it and put it on utube.

Dunno about birds, but I had problem with squirrells once, + found the only thing that stopped them coming in was sonic rat repelling device.
