If your room is square or rectangle,Run a string from one corner of the room to the opposite corner and repeat the process for the other corner.Where the two strings meet is exactly centre of your room. That's the easiest way for a square or rectangular room.

Tack or tape a length of string from one corner to it's diagonal corner. Then do the same with another piece of string for the remaining two corners. The point at which they intersect will be the 'center' of your ceiling.

Personally, I would be more concerned about attaching it correctly than if it is in the exact center of the room. You must provide solid support or you may wake up with it in bed with you.

Follow the manufactures recommendations carefully.

You can run two strings from the corners, to meet in an "X" in the middle, or snap two chalk lines, or use a pair of laser lights

hang a string in two opposing corners and string each one across the center to the other corner. That should give you center point.

Snap a chalk line from one corner to the diagonal corner and do the same with the two remaining corners. Where the two chalk lines cross is your center. The chalk line washes off semi gloss paint but if you have flat paint.use masking tape.

measure the room both ways, take 1/2 of each measurement if your room is 10'x10' your center would be at the 5'x5' point
