Yes, women still wear both. It helps slim them down for tight clothing. In fact, it's one of the "secrets" of the red carpet for a lot of the stars.

I will occasional wear a long panty girdle when I'm feeling bloated or if I want to look good in a tight dress. My favorite thing to wear is a body briefer to slim me down. Check out this web site for both the panty girdles and body briefer.

hmmmm... it depends... their are some women that like to use long leg pantygirdles and some just panty girdles. :)
