I've heard that in life people are suppose to feel every emotion (love, hurt, anger etc.) in their life, because it makes them a stronger person? anyone know if thats true?

People have a tendency to focus to much on emotions. Yes, you will feel pain, joy, anger, excitement etc...but to what extent? Some people I have met, I would consider overly emotional. Emotions have there uses but one must work hard at keeping them in check. For one thing, we may have a "feeling" about something and be completely wrong about it. When logic succumbs to emotion one is heading towards trouble. I may be wrong for this but I tend to view overly emotional people as weak minded. They make choices based on how they "feel" rather than what is best. Feelings, for the most part are not real. They simply are base inner beliefs that pop into our minds when experiencing things, good or bad. Feel everything you can but don't lose your head!

I'm not sure if there are set rules for ones emotions, and I don't know who would make those rules up, but if you live long enough, you are bound to experience all emotions. But since not everyone experiences the same things in life, the intensity may be different. Losing a husband to another woman or man may be painful, but its not as painful as having a child die before you do, for instance.

I don't think anyone is supposed to feel every emotion during one's lifetime. That suggests that someone or something demands that a person must feel these emotions. I can't think of anything which would compel one to feel emotions during any specific period of time.

No, believe me, it is not true.

I don't know about "supposed to" but I'd think it's very hard to find someone who hasn't experienced every emotion at least once.

It's regarded a shame if you don't experience as much as you can in your life. Unless you're happy to be unaware of all that life has to offer, that is.

There is no obligation, however.
