You can't do this with a normal audio track, it needs to be a MIDI or split track.

On an audio track all the vocals and instruments are recorded as one enitity. With a MIDI track each component is seperate, so you can remove vocals or specific instruments, etc.

get one of those karaoke Cds....

then play the music, sing along, while at the same time record it all separately
