It really depends on how well you want to eat and live : o )

Scenario 1: a room in a flat (app 2500 dkr or 350 US dollars per month), student food (app 1500 or 210 US dollars per month), transport: bicycle (nothing). Going out student style once a week (800 dkr or 120 US dollars) All in all 4800 dkr or 680 US dollars per month.

Scenario 2: Your own flat (app 4000-6000 dkr or 570-850 US dollars per month), healthy and tasty food (3000 dkr or 430 US dollars per month), public transport (we have excellent public transport in DK) (600 dkr or 86 US dollars a month), entertainment (2000 dkr a month or 290 US dollars). All in all 9600 to 11600 dkr or 1370 to 1650 US dollars per month.

I have provided links to danish supermarkets, where you can download the weekly "tilbudsavis" or "se ugens tilbud" (whats on offer for that week), which can give you idea of the prices. 1 US dollar app 7 dkr.

You are welcome to send me a mail, if you would like more info.

I'm planning on being a student there and they say you need about 50,000kr a year at a minimum to live. (That's about 8 thousand USD.) But of course if you're paying a lot in rent, you'll need more. Also, gas is about 4 times as much as it is in the US, plus it's per liter, not per gallon. Groceries aren't nearly as expensive as fast food, though.
