(1) there are no "proofs" against this. People say the flaf "floats in the air" but there is no air on the Moon so this is a fake - well the flat was just thin foil and because there is no air on the Moon they had fitted it with a thin horizontal arm so that it would look good. And so on
(2) at the time the US and the USSR were at the height of the Cold War, and there was a race to space to be the first everyhwere as proof / display of power. Well, if the US had staged a Moon landing, with no spacecraft making the trip, and all radio and tv emissions coming from a site on Earth, guess what, the Russians would have been so happy to say it! They'd have said, look, we pointed our telescopes, we listened, and there's nothing in space, and the radio waves come from Earth. They hated the Americans and they would just have loved to be able to do this. But since there was a spacecraft, and the radio and tv waves did actually come from the Moon, guess what, they couldn't do anything and even contratulated the Americans.
I continue to wonder how these weird theories can continue to survive. And the only explanation I can find, is that due to a school system that is worsening every year, and due to the pauperisation of the population, more and more people in the US are so much like the citizens of any 3rd world country, that they cannot be expected to be able to tell what is real, and what is a guy's flaky attempt to sell books. Pretty sad.
as far as I'm aware, about 10% of the people in the US believe that the Moon landings were fakes. And also about 10% of the people assert that they've been abducted by aliens.

C'mon stop there are no proofs against it.
Think about this: Prior to the landing of The Eagle in 1969 the Americans and the Russians had successfully landed seven un manned vehicles on the moon.
But for some reason a superb engineer and pilot in the person of Neil Armstrong who had flown so high in an X-15 that he actually had his astronaut wings before joining the space program and the guy standing next to him Buzz Aldrin who was a good pilot and had done a 5.5 hr space walk and held a PhD from M.I.T in Astronautics with a thesis called " Guidance for Manned Orbital Rendezvous." could not get a manned vehicle onto the lunar surface.
And the reason why not is ?

Yes, the U.S. landed a dozen different men on the moon. Neil Armstrong was merely the first human to set foot (or boots) on the surface of the moon.
No, there are no "proofs" that he did not, just some pseudoscientific garbage written by idiots who seem to have some vendetta against the U.S. and anything good we did.
Check out www.badastronomy.com for a complete refutation of all these so-called "proofs".

Yes, but I enjoyed the movie "Capricorn One", too (not quite "Blue Thunder", though). What are the proofs of which you speak (if you find them to sound plausible, mention some or point to the link; if they're not worthy of mention, well, not much of a proof).

Of course and there are no "proofs" just paranoid conspiracy theories. Do you think the nation would spend 28 billion dollars, 14 years and hire 250,000 people to make a movie and not have one person reveal that it was faked. Get real !

Yes, he did. Those "proofs" are not really good. And if he did not, the Soviets would have said something to the world.
