I would say it's probably a lack of options. Not to say there aren't hundreds of beers to choose from, but I think most Americans look at the prices. Domestic beers are cheaper, and when you're out shopping for beer and you see a 12pack, of say Coors, for $6.50 and compare it to a 6 pack, of say Sapporo, for 8.50. They'll go for the Coors. Personally I can't stand America beer (aside from the occasional dark Sam Adams) it is weak and not very flavorful. I go foreign every time even if it costs a little extra. Quality over quantity.

I don't drink lager in the US they taste piddley, I stick with the spirits. BTW in the UK Real Ale is not drunk warm it's served at cellar temperature which compared to room temperature is still chilled, just not to the point where you can't taste it anymore as that would defeat the object of the breweries spending years getting the taste just right.

some people need strong sensations for their buds and some do not, the effect of the strength is still the same in the life and on the mind, they both have get away qualities for sanity. some leave and never return, the good old price of beer, never really changes much, except life. it still gives the same results .

so you are one of the guys that has made this country great by being able to drink a skinful of beer now isn't that something to be proud of. i am proud of being English but not of english people who seem to think that the only way to enjoy themselves is to drink them selves stupid every saturday night. i am thankful that the Americans are more civilised in their drinking than us

I rarely drink beer so it doesn't matter to me but I won't spend the money for the expensive imported stuff.

The fact that they all own guns in the states and are trigger happy at the best of times makes it dangerous for them to down pints let alone pints of strong beer.
If pint measures and stella were widespread in the US they'd all kill each other and would no longer be a superpower.
