Go to a craft shop that sells rubber stamps for making greeting cards. The ink pads for these have a raised pad so even a small one can be used to ink any size stamp. Buy a dye or permanent ink pad as pigment ink pads are slow drying for use with embossing powders.
Versafine pads are an exception to the rule being pigment pads but are fast drying and waterproof and last longer than other pads

The technique for inking craft stamps is to lay them on their back on a flat surface and gently and thoroughly dab the ink pad all over their surface. If you plunge the stamp into the pad you get ink in the wrong places.

you dont!!! Turn the stamp rubber side up & ink by lightly tapping the inkpad all over it. Not too hard tho or you will get ink in the grooves of the design & get a smudged or unclear impression. Good luck & enjoy

i would use a high density sponge and soak it in ink. obviously you will need to find a suitable container to put it in so it doesn't go everywhere or dry up.
