Its a chevy, so no. Can't go wrong with a Ford. They have never done me wrong. I had an '86 Ranger with 298,000 miles on it before it finally died.

Well I would say the decision is ultimately up to you but I will tell you this. If you do go with the Chevy, then get the 3.7L I5. It'll get a little more power at the cost of some mileage. But in all honesty I would probably go with Ford just because of the availability of a V6. They will have still more power if that is what you are looking for in a compact truck. The problem is that the Ranger is an old design in need of serious updating. The Chevy is a new design that is much better than the old S-10 it replaced. Now if you want something with refinement and power then I would say look to Toyota or Nissan as they have much more power and a lot more refinement.

For a good honest answer go to friendlychevy.com been in buiness for over 50years and family owned. The Chevy Colorado blows away the Ranger, I had one of those Rangers and it was a piece of junk, that can happen with any vehicle though, so the way to find out the truth, test drive both of them,go to both Ford and the Chevy site I gave you for real answers.

I used to work in the service department of a Chevrolet dealership. As far as I know, there were a few problems when the Colorado came out as a new model and we had about 6 new trucks that we had to rebuild the engines in due to Service Engine Lights and Running problems. In the newer models, (as far as I know) this problem has been corrected and I haven't had any other complaints.
Hope this helps! (As far as trucks go...they aren't real bad on fuel mileage either)

I would go for the inline 5 that they offer and not get the 4. You'll have alot more power and probably like it better.

Yes, it is a good truck. However, the Z71 (full size) is better.
