Divide income tax by staff. Or staff by income tax. That's how you calculate a ratio: you divide one figure by the other.

There is no diffirenciation between the central government staff and the state government staff when it comes to paying income tax. The computation of total income and the deductions, rate of tax, exemptions etc. are one at the same.

Hi Deepak

The calculations of Income Tax related to the Central Govt staff is primarily similar to that of a non Central Govt staff. But there are some benefits attached to the employees of the Central Govt. that allows them some exemptions from payment of Tax.

But I would suggest you to take the tax related advise from a Income Tax professional rather than from unreliable sources like from net.

Income tax is a really difficult thing for the Central Govt Employees as their PF is under the eyes of the Income Tax Deptt. Even a small mistake in the Return of Income filled by you is enough for the IT deptt to catch you by neck & squeeze as much as they can.
So take the services of some Profeesional to avoid heavy penalties from Income tax Deptt. The cost of services is far too low as compared to the hassels they get you out from.

Clarify whether you are a employer or employee.

Well calculation of tax will be same for the assessee of central govt employee and others but the only difference is that Central govt employee gets some tax exemptions as compared to others. Rest is same .
