Hi our tree has broken off and caused damage to next doors garden due to the storms we have had and wind. Do we pay or do they claim on there or our house insurence?

If you can remove it, do it. If the neighbor wants some resitution, then you will need to contact your home owners insurance.

Actually, as long as your tree was healthy before the storm, the injured parties insurance should cover the damage. I found this out after a hurricane while I was in Pensacola. One of my trees was blown over, falling across the fence and smashing his satellite dish. His insurance paid for the damage to the dish.

Your insurance - but be warned some insurance policies do not cover storm damage - it's classed as 'act of God'.

Check your policy - if yours doesn't cover it then your neighbours will have to check their policy.

On the whole though - most insurers will pay out!
