Why shouldn't it be? Just because it was written a long time ago it doesn't make it any less good. There is classical music to cater for just about everyone - if you look hard enough you will find some music that you like. As to why some classical music is popular and some isn't it's exactly the same as why some pop music is more popular - it's a matter of taste and what's fashionable.

For me, classical music takes me to a variety of places. For example, Some have one flying through and over a beautiful land. Others will relax me and i can imagine being beside a beautiful lake, watching all the wild life around me.

It's a subjective thing. There are pieces of music that are just so poignant, emotional and indescribably beautiful they make your heart swell. You have to marvel at the genius of the old composers.

Having said that, ZZ Top is a lot of fun, too ;-)

I like certain classical pieces because of the displine involved in its creation, as it is with such forms of expression the sheer displine it takes to master such qualities of art gives it an appeal that 'trash lit-' style kinds of music leave one wanting something more.

just listen to it speaks for its self / intermezzo from cavalleria rusticana give it a go so good bring tears to your eyes
