Yeah, the possibility exists for repairs in the drive train, front end, rear, etc.
Replacing an engine only replaces the engine, it does nothing for the remainder of the vehicle. There is also the likelihood that the engine will have to keep going back to the installer to fine tune any quirks that will be present after the new engine is used for a short while. This is very likely, although with these older cars, such glitches MAY be easier to resolve than with a vehicle made 1982 on up to today.
What kinda Dodge is it by the way? I had a passion for Mopar growing up. Give some details on the car so as to aid in your question and cost estimate. Location matters too.

The slant 6 engine was a very good and long lasting engine, as a matter of fact, they usually lasted long enough to wear out every thing else including transmission, rear differential, steering components and door hinges. Caution! You may be looking at a handsomly designed formerly wonderful ..... now turned "Money Pit" Well you asked what else could go wrong.

The rearend will be fine, the tranny should be good too, just get it serviced. Like I said in the other post I would get either a used engine or get a crate engine. My dad got a 350 chevy from Jasper for $3000 and at 300 HP....
Go here, you can get a 318 crate engine for $1500..... I dont know why everone is telling you $3000-$6000 for an engine......

Anything or everything. Transmission, differential, any peripheral equipment attached to the engine, battery, suspension, steering. The last time I settled a claim on a damaged engine, it cost $3,800 to replace a long block that failed because of an oil leak.

NO, the differential will not have problems. Possible tranny problems, definite brake problems, but other than that, it should be OK. May need king pins. Make sure that when it gets overhauled, you put in hardened valve seats to accomidate the unleaded gas. Good luck.
