Quadrapeds (animals that have and use all 4 legs to move) do so because it enables speed- they can run faster. Bipedal (humans) are not built for speed, they are built for stamina.
They can out walk any animal though and will tire long after the animal does. That is the theory on how human evolution prevailed over other types- they could attack food and then follow the trail- walk after it until it is exhausted and stops- humans, by putting less energy into the movement, can catch up and finish the kill.

Human walks on 2 legs cause of evolution of this specie. Walking on 2 legs made for him able to use his 2 arms to make things. That is what it made him clever and seperate him from animals. He prevailed on other species. There can only be one specie that prevails on others. If there was a second one, the fight against eachother would put out of sight the one of them. That is why only human can walk on his 2 legs.

Not all animals do. Animals can have 2,4,6,8, 100 or even no legs at all. The animal develops the best body to help it survive in the wild, just like our bodies are designed to help us.
