I work my butt off for months trying to save money,
I live on hardly anything for months trying to pass my driving test and buy my 1st car,
I have 3 small children and i'm by myself,
Only to be ripped off and be sold a deathtrap, which I'm now going to have to sell as spares,
How do people sleep at night knowing they've conned someone ???

Awww bless ya! Horlicks will help anyone get a good nights sleep LOL! But seriously that is bang out of order. I'm sure there are laws in place in the UK about buying second hand cars, you should look into it. Maybe the seller was unaware about the problems with the car, but I doubt it. Be careful who you buy cars from in future. Some firms let you buy a brand new car for £15 a month, it's worth looking into. If there were no nasty people then the good in people who are genuine would be overlooked. It's a darkness and light world. I truly hope you get this situation resolved soon and I can totally understand how are feeling. All the best.

I feel for ya, I really do. It's wrong but it's also a sad part of life. Have you gone back to where you got it from? IF you got it off one of those wretched Tote The Note lots, little wonder it's a pile of junk.

Small bit of advice for future car purchases. Take the vehicle for a test drive and head straight to a repair shop to have them go all over it. It will usually cost you $50-75 (more if you have a computer diagnostic run on it) but it could very well save you thousands in repairs. I never buy a car without having a mechanic buddy go all over it, so that if there's a problem, I know before I shell out the rest of my cash.

Listen to me, Cars are a trap , no matter if it operates good or not. I advise you to stick to your traditional ways of going places. I am an American and have been burdened with driving since I was 16 and for the first couple of years it is fun , but then after you start paying for speeding tickets, insurance, gasoline (petrol) , maintenece with much money spent on this it is incredible , and just the awful stress of traffic and fear of having an accident. If you are wanting to go somewhere out in the country or travel it is good idea to rent , but otherwise take good advantage of your wonderful public transport system over there or enjoy aerobic excercise by walking riding a bike, many people here in america complain constantly that we wish we could use horses again. Especially after the prices for gas !!! I hear over there that it is $6 or more a litre or something. To hell with cars !

some states have a lemon law on used cars. You should check into it to see if yours does.

There are several things you can try to help your family.
In my town, there is one church that actually asks for donated vehicles for families like yours. Call all of the churches in your area and ask to see if any do that. While you have them on the phone ask to see if you can apply for their benevolence fund. This is a fund established to help people in the community.

Also, the salvation army may help with car repairs. I believe they first require an estimate from two shops before they will do anything (this is what the S.A. does where I live. I don't know about where you live.)

Another think, is there is an organization called WORD. It is for women who are on their own with/without children. Check your white pages for such a listing or call your local food bank, they will probably know about them.

Also, while you have the food bank on the phone, get a list of all the resources that they have, such as all the places in town that gives free gas vouchers, car repairs, free food, free hair cuts. etc. Usually the food banks keep such lists to hand out to their 'customers'.

Keep looking for help. There are people who are willing to give a hand if they know about your situation. Lyons club helps with eye doctor appointments and eye glasses. Health department helps with car seats, Salvation Army helps with laundry, the mental health center may know where you can get free child care. If any of your children are on Medicaid, then when they have doctors appointments, you can ride for free in medicab.

I know it's not much, but maybe there is something there that can help.
Do check about that Lemon law though!

There are really people who doesn't think and doesn't have conscience. These are the people who will not succeed, not in any future. These people are losers. Maybe parents are also like that or maybe raised in a wrong way. I know what you're feeling right now. Just think of the consequences. His life will be ruined together with his siblings and next generations. Pray hard, you'll see, there is a greater reward waiting for you. If you had lost one time, you will hit jackpot the next time. There is a right time for everything.

Thats terrible, have you thought about going to the Trading Standards or something like that and reporting the person who sold you the car?

Some people are just naturally born stinkers. I don't believe they are really human, but the bad guys do seem to get away with a lot of meaness.
