Hi there i am looking to book a short break to london, ive found a low cost bus service called megabus, however i am struggling to find hotels. The bus service goes to London Victoria Coach station, and i want a hotel nearby.
London Victoria seems the place to be with regards to sightseeing, big ben, london eye etc, however i wouldnt mind going to see a show, whereabouts is victoria compared to the west end? im absolutely hopeless with searching on google so i feel like i have no chance

Once you are in central london, everything is pretty close. Victoria is 15 mins on a bus, 10 on a tube form the West end
Hotels are likely to be expensive there.

I am not sure of the buses these days but from Victoria you can walk up Buckingham Palace Road to Hyde Park Corner then along Piccadilly to Piccadilly circus were you are just about in the heart of Theatre land. North into Soho and China Town or up Regent Street to Oxford Street best shopping in the world. Or from Hyde Park Corner if you go the opposite way to Piccadilly you get to Kensington and Harrods London is as great place to be but you need more than a short break.

Euston/Kings Cross have a number of the cheap chain hotels like Travelinn and Ibis.
Also check out www.laterooms.co.uk.
From Victoria or Euston (or any of the mainline stations) all the sites are within easy tube/bus reach of all the main sites.
Get an Oyster card from a tube station as soon as you get there. It'll save you loads on transport!

You may find that the Regents Palace Hotel, just off of Piccadilly Circus would be reasonably priced by London standards and central with all the main sights just a slightly long but interesting walk away with all the main theatres a short walk away.

Once you are ln london, it dosen't really matter whereabouts you are staying as the tube is convenient and you can get to most areas really easily.
On the underground i'd say from victoria to the west end its about 10-15 minutes, just get off the tube at either covent garden or leicester square and someone can point you in the right direction then.

West end is around Piccadilly, leicester Square area.
Sohois good for food especailly around the gay area of Old Compton Street with the best cake shops
For nightclubs the ones in the west end are not nec the best...
For psytrance and dance see www.accessallareas.com
Use www.multimap.com to find out where places are and near tube stations.
Other mad nightclubs include www.carwash.co.ukl 70s gfancy dress, pool jaquzzi (book beforehand)
www.schooldisco.com (guess the dress code)
club koko in camden...
And check out Camden between the station and chalk far ie the markets especailly the stables one and you got to see the wildest clothes shop in London called cyberog in stables market by the canal in Camden

Get yourself a tube map to get about once there - it's quick and easy - and an oyster card is the cheapest form of travel ticket:
https://sales.oystercard.com/oyster/lul/entry.do
open top bus tour has a 24hour ticket - you can get on/off wherever you want to see in detail the tourist attractions of your choice - while getting a view at all the other must see's you don't want to explore.
For theatre you MUST check out this site:

meanwhile - have fun and enjoy
