I have always found them campy... Seriously... funny. Just like their illustrious ex lead singer Morrissey whom I adore for that very reason. I failed to see the pleasure in such things myself until much later on in life... I only became aquainted with them in recent years and I love them!
It is like a pinch of modernist satire in a world lost to the joys of Pope and John Wilmot.

he is so clever, if you take the time to really listen to the lyrics it will bring back all the intense feeling you had when growing up , if your a deep thinker you will relate to most songs he is a genius and non of their music dates if they were all released again now they would be hits. So good news about the charts changing to downloads maybe will will hear some more decent stuff being played.

i actually love that! particularly the in basic terms right 2 lines. What made you write this? in my opinion, i might want to be fearful of you because of this. Haha. :) Have a robust searching day! morrissey is a very, very clever man. he was once described as being able to sing the song directly to you thus making his words more personal. if you're inclined to be down and depressed then i suppose it strikes all the right chords which i think he does. but if you stand back and look at his lyrics he's a total mick taker. when he wrote these lines he was accused of provoking at least two folk into suicide. personally i think he's the most gifted songwriter i've ever had the pleasure of listening to me. do you remember suedehead. it was a mick take of former associate singer billy mackenzie who was very concious of his bald patch, so morrissey thought he would remind him of it.

Well, Morrisey is the lead singer. He's a miserable git. I'd say they are miserable. I don't like their music either.
