Please be very elaborate, articulate, concice and great composed detail with your answer as much as possible. Also don't be anti-DS I'd prefer fair and honest POV. Thank-you.

Sales wise. One could say the PSP is simply a dying system. Despite its slightly higher graphic capabilities, the severe lack of cool games (save something like MGS, or your odd input games like Lumines) it really has nothing going for it. 4, 5, 6 games at the most worth playing. While the DS is being pushed up by Nintendo-Sony-back to nintendo Square Enix with the release of two major RPG chains (Dragon Quest IX, Final Fantasy XII DS) along with multiple other Japanese (due to the immense sales/ the ds is owned in more households than any other system worldwide) and American companies/corporations.

I have a PSP and my 19 year old son has a DS.

We both enjoy it for what they do.
If my son had not already gotten a DS and a backpack full of games he said he'd have probably gotten a PSP instead.

My PSP is used for when I travel (which is a lot), and I play both games and movies on it. I also convert movies and store them for play off of the memory card on the PSP. The battery life was not great so I replaced it with a better one that lasts about 5 hours.

The battery life is the only thing about the DS that my son says is better. His DS lasts 10-12 hours compared with my 5 hours. He has gotten used to the poorer graphics and the limitatins of his DS, but still plays it because it is smaller and the batteries last longer.
