I have been trying off and on to lucid dream for a few months, with no real success. A few times I have started to become lucid, only on mornings where I sleep way too long, but as soon as I fully realize it I wake up. I try to hold on to the dream, but everything goes black and I wake up. Since the first time this happened I have also had a couple of false awakenings from lucid dreams.

Is lucid dreaming really this difficult? Any tips or techniques that have worked for you? I've read all the basic mild, wild, and other techniques.

do a few searches on the internet. also, there is an herb by the name of Calea zacatechichi if you go to mazatecgarden.com they will have this particular dream herb. it helps while practicing lucid dreaming.

it is like learning a language. it takes about 8 months, but anyone can do it, and calea can help.

there are also lucid dreaming classes at harvard, i believe it is.

Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Visualize with the inhale, positive aspect. Exhale, Nagative. Keep the dream in your mind. You should not tamper too much with sleep patterns as they govern much of reality. You need deep sleep
