I have an office background, but i dont know what courses to go on to be able to do the books, pay accounts, pay the salaries. What courses can i go on to do this? The company is only a year old, so i would be able to handle it all myself for now. What do i study to learn about the tax and vat etc... Please help with some advice on where and what to study. Thank you.

You need to study bookkeeping or accounting which you could do at any university. You could either do a full on degree or just a diploma which will take only between 6-9 months with no more than 2 lessons per week. Good luck!

There is alot of financial software available which does the work for you, you just need to know where to enter what.
Im a ACCPAC consultant and ACCPAC is one of the software available. ACCPAC is used by companies such as ABSA, de Beers etc.
The other solution is the Pastel software.
If you take a course in accounting it will help you alot as well
