If you want to see them grow faster there are a couple of things you can do. Keep in mind though, that the healthiest way to raise a fish is not the fastest way.
That said, they take all of their lives to grow to their maximum 'huge' size, and the bigger they get, the slower they grow. They never do stop growing entirely until they die. To see your fish BIG you would need to keep it in a very big tank or pond, and keep it alive for many years. You will never see it huge without a great amount of patience. Remember that the 24" long goldfish you heard about had also lived for 50 years.
In the mean time, if you want to, you can feed your fish higher protein foods, feed the fish more (preferably by feeding it many times a day, as more food per meal will just go uneaten and mess the tank) and warming up the water, which increases the fishes metabolism and in turn, how much it will and can eat. Also make sure the tank is always kept pristine.

haha I laughed on the identify of the question! confident the grow to be extensive lol! confident they attain a length of 8-12 inches and can strengthen even bigger! ALL goldfish attain a minimum of 8 inches if saved in ideal situations (i'm speaking 20 gallons for the 1st and 10 for each added) in addition they can stay to be 2 many years previous. Commets (feeders) get to be bigger then the others and choose greater then 20 gallons! Samw with koi yet koi incredibly ought to purely be saved in ponds different than perhaps for the iciness! Yup in simple terms like the breeders goldfish puppy save goldfish get to be in simple terms as vast and previous!

goldfish grow big but not that fast and some goldfish get bigger than others. usually they adapt to a certain size space. if you keep them in a small tank they will stay small. about an inch every 6 months is good growth.
there is also the theory that why fish stay small in small spaces is they secrete a hormone that limits their growth. if you change water frequently it helps them grow bigger. betta breeders were the first to notice this. when the water is changed daily the babies grow about twice as fast.

They grow to the size of their surroundings, for example the larger the tank, they will grow larger, that's why goldfish in ponds grow very large.

Have you got live plants for them to feed on? I find that they really like them & that's the reason mine grow BIG... hehehe but, don't overfeed them with flakes/pellets thinking this will make them bigger, you'll prob end up killing them...... just feed small amounts a couple of times a day plus have plants for them to nibble on & they should grow providing your tank is big too, they won't grow big in a small tank.....
