the 2006 FIFA World Cup semi-final result between host nation, GERMANY & ITALY was really unexpected. as for the disappointed one, the 2008 UEFA European Championship qualifier in Zagreb between CROATIA & ENGLAND, wrong formation being used & the softest goal conceded by an experience defender.

germany vs italy !!!!! i thought it will be plenty shoot out but at the end italy ending up with 2 goals

england vs portugal!!!!rooney red card...beckham got injuryed..portugal won it...and after that match beck out of the england squad..then england out of the wc...but could be more disppointing??

The most surprising was Australia vs Japan - the Socceroos come-back was amazing - it demoralized the opponents not just beat them
The most disappointing was the Australia vs Italy game. I had torn loyalties at the game. Australia played well - Italy did not play as well as it can. I would have been happier with a most decisive result. The result was disappointing.

Germany losing to Italy in the semi final of the World cup was a shock for me. I felt that Italy were a poor team and the home crowd would carry Germany through.
England loosing to Portugal was the most disappointing for me. I nearly cried like a baby!

Spain vs. Ukriane...we played soooo well (4-0)
France vs. Spain...we were doing so well in the first half (1-1), but by the end of the match it was 3-1 and spain was out of the WC... :(
