I have heard this referred to, but cannot find it on a map. Is it another name for the Agean Sea?

You are correct. It is the White Sea unofficially. Officially it is the Aegean Sea.

The White Sea (if you look on a map) is up north, somewhere in the Kola Pen. area (N-E of the Scandinavian Pen. ) . White Sea isn't an other name for the Aegean Sea. Okay? :)

It's another name for the Mediterranean

'The Mediterranean Sea has been known by a number of alternative names throughout human history.......In Turkish, it is Akdeniz, "the white sea". In Arabic, it is Al-Baħr Al-Abyad Al-Muttawasit (البحر الأبيض المتوسط), "the middle white sea".

Most languages have a name for the sea, often a translation of either "middle sea" or "white sea".'

Never heard of this. Maybe you are reffering to an individual beach somewhere in Greece. If you can give more information we can sort it out.
